When you want to print exclusive books or publications that need to maintain lasting value is the traditional hardcover of the right decision. Hardcover or so called Italian binding is a durable and robust binding in which the hardboard cover protects the book block.

Hardcover books are among the most demanding graphic products, the production process consists of several technological operations, so the production is longer and consequently more expensive.

Unlike soft binding, where the book block is sewn with thread, a hardcover book follows the same procedure, except that in this case we apply a strip of glue on the back and front of the book block to which we glue (front and back) a binding or connecting sheet. .

he material for the binding sheet is usually white wood-free - uncoated paper (170 g / m2), also available in different colors (red, black, green, brown), but it can also be printed.

This is followed by applying glue to the back of the book block, drying and trimming the book block to the final format.
The next operation is to form a book block (flat or round back), add a pointer tape, glue gauze and a capital tape. This completes the bookbinding block, followed by the production of a hard cover.

The base for the hard cover is cardboard for the sides, a back insert and a printed coating material, which is glued to the cardboard with hot glue.

The coating material is protected with a laminating foil and, if desired, can be enriched with 3D partial varnish or hot foil printing.

This is followed by the embedding of the book block, in which the machine smears the bookbinding block - the binding sheet with glue and glues it to the cover. So we get a hardcover book.
