Self-adhesive labels are used for the same purposes as roll labels, but instead of printing them from rolls, we print them from sheets or from rolls.

In both cases, we use the same printing technology (HP Indigo), but the self-adhesive material for printing labels is supplied in sheets, while the label material for printing roll labels is supplied in rolls.

The materials for sheet printing are mainly divided into paper and synthetic materials. The cheapest material is definitely paper, which is chosen when labels are applied to products that do not come into contact with water.

Paper-based self-adhesive materials include coated paper in white color, paper with a slightly structured surface in white or beige, which is suitable for sticking on bottles, and papers in bright fluorescent colors to highlight the message.

When you need waterproof labels, choose synthetic material (PP). Synthetic material (PP) is resistant to moisture, water, UV light, oils, temperature changes, and can also be used outdoors. Synthetic material is available in white color and is generally more expensive than paper materials. Both material groups (paper and synthetic) use strong permanent adhesive for sticking.

A key element in label finishing is the cut to the desired dimension or shape. At Demago Print, we can provide labels in any shape and size. You can choose between two cutting methods: guillotine cutting or digital CNC cutting.

Guillotine cutting allows cutting only straight lines, and the final label shape can be a rectangle or square. The final cut formats are usually standard sizes (A4, A5, A6, A7...), but they can also be cut to other formats (50x70, 82x93, 45x45 mm...). The minimum cutting size with a guillotine is 40x40 mm.

When the shape of your label is not rectangular or square, it is referred to as a custom or irregular shape label. In this case, a guillotine cut is not possible, and the labels are cut with a CNC cutting machine, which is computer-controlled and uses a knife to precisely cut custom shapes such as circles, ovals, triangles, hexagons, stars...

CNC contour cutting is cost-effective for smaller print runs as it eliminates the need for die-cutting tools. However, due to its slower process, CNC cutting is consequently a more expensive option.
