Frequently asked questions about saddle stitching (FAQ)

When should I choose saddle stitching?

Saddle stitching is the best choice when you need a cost-effective, fast and easy-to-browse binding. It is ideal for catalogues, brochures, price lists, magazines and promotional materials where ease of use and good content overview are important.

What is the recommended page count?

Most commonly 8 to 80 pages. The page count must always be divisible by 4 (for example 16, 20, 24). For larger page counts, we recommend other binding types such as perfect binding or thread sewing.

Is saddle stitching suitable for smaller runs?

Yes, digital printing allows production from as few as 10 copies onwards, which is ideal for smaller projects, test editions or promotional campaigns.

Which paper is the most suitable?

Most commonly, coated paper is used, as it provides the best color result. For a more natural appearance, you can also choose uncoated or recycled paper.

Can I use thicker paper?

Yes, but with a higher page count it is recommended to use lighter inside paper and a heavier cover so that the publication remains properly closed and stable.

Can I add lamination?

Yes, lamination (matt, gloss or Soft Touch) is recommended especially for the cover, as it increases wear resistance and improves the visual effect.

Can I add premium finishes?

Of course. Available options include 3D UV varnish, metallic foil (gold or silver) and other finishes that can highlight the logo or cover.

What are the delivery times?

Delivery times are very short, often within just a few working days, depending on the quantity and selected finishes.

Is the binding durable enough?

Yes, for small and medium-volume publications this binding is very reliable and suitable for everyday use. For intensive use or larger publications, we recommend other binding options.

Can I fully customize the publication?

Yes, you can customize the format, paper, page count, cover and finishes. This gives you a fully tailored product according to your project.
