Frequently asked questions about perfect binding (FAQ)

When should I choose soft (perfect) binding?

Soft binding is the best choice for catalogues, brochures, books, price lists and presentation publications where you need a professional appearance and good durability. It is especially suitable for projects with a higher page count, where saddle stitching is no longer the optimal solution.

How many pages can a brochure have?

Perfect binding allows a range of approximately 40 to 700 pages, depending on the paper weight. For very thick publications, choosing the right materials is important so the spine remains stable.

Which paper is most suitable for the inside pages?

Most commonly, paper between 90–130 g/m² is used, offering a good balance between thickness, flexibility and cost. For catalogues with many photographs, we recommend coated papers; for text-heavy content, uncoated or ECO papers are also suitable.

What should the cover be like?

The cover is usually printed on 250–350 g/m² card, which provides stability and protection. We recommend additional lamination, as it significantly extends the publication’s lifespan.

Can I choose a custom format?

Yes, in addition to standard formats (A4, A5), we also offer a custom format. This is an excellent option for catalogues that need to stand out or follow a specific design concept.

Can I use thicker paper?

Yes, but with a higher number of pages it is recommended to use lighter inside paper and a thicker cover so the publication remains properly closed and does not open up.

Is lamination possible?

Yes, lamination (matt, gloss or Soft Touch) is highly recommended, as it increases resistance to wear, moisture and scratches and improves the visual effect of the publication.

Which premium finishing options are available?

Available options include 3D UV varnish, metallic foil (gold or silver), Soft Touch lamination and anti-scratch protection. These finishes highlight the cover and increase the perceived value of the printed product.

Can I print small quantities?

Yes, digital printing allows production from small print runs, which is ideal for test projects, presentations or limited editions.

What are the delivery times?

Delivery times are short and flexible, usually a few working days, depending on the quantity, scope and selected finishing options.

Is the binding durable enough?

Yes, soft binding is very strong and suitable for everyday use. For even greater durability, we recommend a laminated cover.
