03.09.2016 Labels for different wishes, expectations, and needs

We are sure you have found yourself in a situation where you needed various labels. Whether it's labels for a wine bottle, juices, a gift box with cookies, or for a jar of jam, or even for clothing labels, cleaning product packaging, and more.

While you didn't have trouble deciding where to stick the labels, the bigger challenge often appeared when you had to choose between different material options, production methods, and, last but not least, finishing options.

The main guide when choosing should be the quantity
The first parameter in deciding is definitely the quantity of labels you need. If you need a larger quantity of about 500 pieces or more (depending on the size of the label), we recommend roll-to-roll labels.

Digital label printing on rolls offers high-quality print, multiple designs within one dimension, and printing of variable data. In addition, you can choose from over 700 different pre-existing die-cut tools based on the size and shape of the label.

For materials, both paper and PVC materials are available. A wide range of label finishing options allows you to make your labels unique and eye-catching.

You can choose from different laminations, UV spot coating, blind embossing, hot foil stamping with various color foils, UV coating, etc.

Roll labels are also a suitable choice for those using machine labeling. In this case, make sure you choose the correct winding direction and roll diameter.

Labels from sheets are selected when you need a smaller quantity. You can choose from paper (matte, gloss, textured paper) and PET labels. Sheet labels are printed in the CMYK color space.

In this technique, we can print labels up to the maximum size of A3 (420x297mm), while when choosing the size of your label, you can follow standard formats like A4, A5, A6, Q5, Q6, or customize the label to suit your needs. The minimum size for this label format is 30x30mm.

If you have a limited budget, you can opt for pre-prepared self-adhesive A4 sheet labels. The downside in this case is that you must adjust the label size to the existing measurements on the A4 sheet. However, there are many options, so most people can find the right label for them.

Gold is in
This summer's trend is definitely labels that contain a gold element, whether it's a logo, graphic element, or text. Printing in gold in the CMYK color space (digital printing) is not possible. Printed gold color is only a poor approximation of the real gold color, resembling a mustard hue.

Gold can be printed in offset printing as a Pantone metallic color, while in digital printing, one option is also hot foil stamping with gold foil. An alternative in digital printing is roll labels where gold color can be simulated using a silver foil and printing the appropriate color combination of CMYK and additional white ink.

Irregular shapes – Sky is the limit
There is often a need for labels in irregular shapes, whether it's a cut of letters, logos, or text...

The printed material – paper or PVC label – is placed into a cutter that allows contour cutting. You could say the principle here is "Sky is the limit". Since the cutter is computer-controlled, it can cut any shape. The smallest possible cut is a label about 10 mm in size, while the maximum width is limited by the roll size, which is most commonly 130 cm.

One more tip – when ordering cut-out text in the form of individual letters, always request transfer tape that will make it easier to install the text on the desired surface.

This technique is especially suitable for smaller quantities. This way, you avoid the cost of the die-cut tool. However, we recommend choosing roll-to-roll labels for larger quantities, as the print quality is certainly better in this case.

We leave nothing to chance, how about you?
